A Walmart in the Baltimore area was left in chaos and commotion when a white boy reportedly approached a Black woman  while holding what appeared to be a gun. The unidentified young boy was thenconfronted by a police officer.

The video of thealleged encounter has gone viral across social media platforms.

One of the bystanders, who goes by Ambermistarr online, posted the video to TikTok on Aug. 14. Since then, the video has garnered more than 4 million views. According to the Atlanta Black Star, people can see when Starr is urging someone to call 911 as they record the whole incident.

Black Woman Says Boy Confronted Her With Fake Gun

The woman involved in the incident said she had been shopping for her daughter when the boy allegedly ran into her while carrying the fake firearm. She appeared shaken as she explained what happened to a bystander.

“He ran into me with that fake gun of his. See me shaking,” she said in the video. She also accused the boy of using racial slurs toward her and objected when he allegedly directed one at the police officer.

The officer attempted to restrain the boy without using excessive force. During this, the youngster reportedly refused to cooperate and challenged the officer, repeatedly using profanity and insisting that he was not a police officer.

The boy’s age has not been confirmed, and authorities have not publicly released an update on the incident. Under Maryland law, children as young as 12 can face criminal charges, although juvenile records are generally protected by confidentiality laws. The woman said she believed the youngster needed guidance.

Boy Reportedly Seen With Fake Gun in Another Incident

The Walmart confrontation was reportedly not the first time the youngster had appeared in a viral video that summer. A bystander recognized him from an earlier incident at a Dollar Tree store in late July.

In that encounter, the boy was reportedly involved in an argument with a Black employee after being removed from the store. He was again allegedly seen holding a fake gun. When another Black woman questioned him about the confrontation, he responded with profanity.

The Walmart video subsequently prompted a heated debate online. Some commenters expressed sympathy for the youngster and suggested that his behavior could be connected to problems at home, mental health issues or other difficulties.

Others criticized those reactions, arguing that the response might have been different if the child had been Black. Several commenters pointed to what they viewed as a racial double standard in discussions surrounding the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the Walmart confrontation, including whether the boy will face any charges, remain unclear. Authorities have not publicly identified him, and no further details about the case were immediately available.
