‘So dehumanizing’: Zara Larsson rips White House use of her music in deportation video

Pop star Zara Larsson condemned the Trump White House for using her music in a video to promote its deportation campaign.

In a TikTok video, Larsson blasted the White House for using her song “Midnight Sun” in a TikTok it posted on Wednesday. The administration’s clip featured a montage of federal immigration agents arresting people and the caption “Never ending deportations…” which is a play on one of Larsson’s lyrics.

“This video is so dehumanizing. These people in this video, they’re real people,” Larsson said.

“I just don’t get it. Like, it’s just so ******* uncool. …It’s just giving… I don’t even know. Like, oh my gosh, you guys are such ******* losers. Like, it’s crazy,” Larsson added.

Larsson is among a number of artists – including SZA, Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande – who’ve criticized the White House for utilizing their songs.

As of Thursday evening, Larsson’s audio seems to have been dropped from the White House’s post.
