Kylie Jenner faces backlash after her private jet takes 17-minute trip: ‘No thought for the planet’

Kylie Jenner is coming under fire after being accused of taking a 17-minute trip on a private jet.

According to the Instagram account [expletive] You Should Care About, the 29-year-old’s private jet appeared to travel from Camarillo, California, to Van Nuys, a roughly 40-mile journey that would take about 45 minutes to drive under normal traffic conditions.

The page called out the Kylie Cosmetics founder for allegedly spending $3,000 on the 17-minute plane journey and shared the charitable ways Jenner, who Forbes estimates is worth approximately $670 million, could’ve spent the money instead. However, it is unclear whether Jenner was on the flight or whether the jet was being merely moved from one location to another.

“You could have funded life-saving pneumonia treatment for 600 children in Sudan with what it cost you to avoid a 45-minute drive,” the page suggested while slamming the reality star. “Instead, you’re leaving it up to us. Luckily, we give a [expletive].”

Users on social media took to the comments section to bash Jenner, with one user writing, “she really looked at a gps and thought 40-45 minutes driving was too long and saved 20-25 minutes by flying? these millionaires/billionaires really have no thought for the planet.”

“I think it’s crazy that we’re stressing about climate change and we all have to use less electricity, and save on water, and avoid plastic, and drive electric cars… meanwhile billionaires are using private jets for 15min journeys… we’re cooked,” another user added.

A third said these short flights are typical among private jets, claiming they often have to relocate to other nearby airports with space when they get overcrowded.

“Yall are still fighting this fight – private jets have to relocate to airports with space,” the user commented. “They can drop off passengers but they have to reposition – which is why you see so many short flights with these planes.”

Some commenters even said they’d do the same if they had the funds, with one writing, “Look I have a 53km morning commute that can blow out to 2 hours. It should take 50mins max. If I could fly I would. And donating to all those save the children funds goes to CEOs and marketing directors before a kid sees a grain of rice let alone gets to eat a meal.”

The Kardashians star recently showed off her private jet during a June trip to Turks and Caicos.

Padded out with fancy leather seats, the jet, which The Sun estimated costs Jenner a whopping $72 million, is outfitted with television screens and built-in footrests for each seat.

Posting photos from the luxury vacation, Jenner posed alongside her friends, all outfitted in matching Kylie Cosmetics pink tracksuits, and her son, Aire, 4, and daughter, Stormi, 8, who accompanied the makeup mogul on her journey to the Caribbean.

The post was also met with hate at the time, with one user writing in the comments section: “And us normal people have to drink from paper straws 🙄,” while another called the jet a “big tax write-off” that Jenner’s social media followers “paid for.”
