Does President Donald Trump know Nicki Minaj isn’t a US citizen?

President Donald Trump has recently been spending a lot of time with other women amid alleged marital trouble. The billionaire has close relationships with his executive assistant, Natalie Harp, and rapper Nicki Minaj, who has called herself Trump’s “No. 1 fan.”

Speaking of Minaj, recent speculation has indicated she could become the new White House Press Secretary. Most federal jobs, including those at the White House, require employees to be US citizens-a requirement Minaj doesn’t meet, reportedly unbeknownst to Trump. Minaj was born in Trinidad and Tobago, but she came to the US as a child and was raised in New York.

However, Hollywood insider Rob Shuter reported that Trump likely doesn’t care. “For the president, having a famous supporter singing his praises can be far more valuable than knowing where they were born,” he wrote via his Naughty But Nice Substack.

An insider noted that Trump “loves celebrities who adore him,” adding, “He loves the attention, the photographs and having famous people tell the world how wonderful he is. He isn’t checking passports before deciding who gets his attention.”

Another source echoed this sentiment, claiming Trump “loves having famous people around him, especially celebrities willing to defend him publicly.” Minaj has done that numerous times, and at a recent campaign rally in Michigan, the “Super Bass” rapper said she would support Trump “forever and ever.” She also revealed that she’d endorse him if he decided to run for a third term.

“Nicki brings star power, headlines and another recognizable face willing to stand beside him,” the source explained. “That is exactly the kind of attention he enjoys.”

A separate insider went on to say, “For Trump, celebrity loyalty is currency. If you’re famous and willing to praise him, you’re going to get his attention. He isn’t asking for a passport at the door.”

Trump’s growing bond with Minaj comes shortly after Dr. Tracy King, a clinical psychologist, told The Irish Star that Melania Trump might feel disrespected by her husband.

“For a wife watching this, there is a clear issue of disrespect. Trump himself was aware he could have caused offence to Nicki Minaj, noted it and then minimized it,” Dr. King said, likely referring to Trump praising Minaj’s backside at the Michigan rally. “He did not openly consider his wife. Yet his words have consequences for her. The hurt she may feel is not even as simple as jealousy; there is a lack of consideration here that will contribute to a lack of trust.”

Dr. King continued, “Respect is expressed in how we behave when our significant others are present and when they are not. Melania will also know that others will see it and make lots of assumptions about her self-respect, as she is in a marriage where she is treated this way. She also has to moderate her public response, as whatever she does becomes the next headline.”

She mentioned that Melania might be used to Trump’s unpredictability, but that doesn’t mean she agrees with it. “A private incident at a party where a husband comments inappropriately on another woman is something a couple can control in terms of who knows about it and how they address it.”

“This is in the public forum, and even after any feelings of hurt may have died down, the clip has the potential to re-emerge with the ongoing comments of others, and any feelings of embarrassment and shame can re-emerge,” Dr. King concluded.

Dr. King’s comments come at a time when previous reports suggest that Trump and Melania are “completely estranged.” Melania previously discussed Trump’s job as the POTUS, and political commentator David Pakman quickly argued that the first lady knows little to nothing about her husband’s busy schedule.

“How would Melania know that Trump is working from morning until evening?” he wondered. Pakman acknowledged that Melania might look at Trump’s schedule from time to time, but she still insisted they’re “basically estranged.”

“It seems as though they are mostly living separately,” Pakman claimed. “They have separate bedrooms, when they’re even in the same building.”
