Alyssa Dawn (@alyssadawnnn) has dreamed of her wedding day since she was a little girl. But when the day came, the bartender she hired allegedly didn’t show up.

“My wedding was last Friday, and one of my worst nightmares happened,” Dawn told TikTok. She alleged that the supposed bartender caters to weddings in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. Dawn continued, “What I went through, I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.”

Dawn said she found all her wedding vendors at the beginning of the year at a Facebook group called ‘Ohio Wedding Vendors.’ She found the mobile bartending business, Sip of Eden, through the group. After doing her research, Dawn found that Sip of Eden had “great reviews.” She added that the owner was “so nice,” and she was eager to meet the woman behind the small business on her wedding day.

“She was super affordable, which is what my household needed, because I’m a stay-at-home mom and we’re a one-income household,” she said. Dawn was on a budget, and Sip of Eden allegedly offered a photo booth and bar package. She was sold on the idea, since she wanted to see her guests’ photos throughout the event. Dawn said she paid the invoice sent via email at the beginning of the year. Unlike this New York City bride with a $6,000 rush-job reception dress, Dawn prepared months before the wedding.

Her bartender became a source of stress

“We stayed in contact all throughout the year, and a week before the wedding, six days away, I messaged her,” Dawn said. She checked up on the bartender, asking if everything was prepared six days before the event. The bartender allegedly acted surprised that Dawn’s wedding was coming up, as though she had forgotten about her commitment to her client. Dawn continued, “I should’ve taken that immediately as a red sign, but I didn’t.” The day of Dawn’s wedding came, and she expected her bartender to be at the venue by 2:00 p.m. to set up, a couple of hours before the ceremony.

It was already 3:50 p.m., and she had her veil on, shoes in, and her makeup done. Dawn was ready to walk down the aisle when her aunt came into the room asking where the bartender was. Dawn continued, “I immediately started panicking. I called her, and it went straight to voicemail.” The bride said she experienced a panic attack because of her bartender’s alleged ghosting. She added, “I was throwing up, I was shaking, I was bawling my eyes out, and I was not able to calm down because it’s my wedding day.”

When the bartender finally replied, she allegedly claimed that she “mixed up” Dawn’s wedding date. The bartender supposedly proposed calling her sister to see if she could go to Dawn’s wedding, but the bride said nobody came.

A ghost at weddings

“I ended up having to contact her at the end of the night because I haven’t heard anything from her,” Dawn said. When she asked for a refund, the bartender texted with an apology and allegedly agreed to return Dawn’s money.

Dawn said she didn’t receive the refund. The bartender allegedly excused herself, saying she was on her way to another wedding and couldn’t respond promptly. Two days after Dawn’s wedding, she messaged the bartender again, pressing her for the refund. Dawn alleged the bartender replied, saying she was “at her dad’s funeral.”

“This all started to become fishy to me,” Dawn said. Skeptical of the excuse, Dawn did further research on the bartender. Dawn said she found a review from another bride from Michigan about the same bartender. She alleged, “Come to find out, she’s done this to 60+ brides. Has canceled the day of, has canceled the night before, and uses very chaotic lies.”

Aside from using her dad’s supposed death, Dawn said the bartender also lied about having cancer, getting into a car accident, among other outrageous lies. On top of that, Dawn claimed the bartender also quadruple-booked weddings. She allegedly ghosted other brides and also failed to issue refunds.

Regardless, Dawn contacted her bank and disputed the charge. She got her money back but maintained that Sip of Eden did not refund her directly. The Mary Sue has reached out to Bartender Elite LLC regarding the issue.
