Last week, a bombshell report informed us that Don Jr.’s 3-day wedding bonanaza in the Bahamas was paid for, in part, by a mysterious Russian oligarch who also happens to be the man behind the 2024 Olympics misgendering scandal.

That was crazy enough. Today, fresh information has come to light, and Don Jr. is in even bigger trouble.

Umar Kremlev, the close friend of Putin who footed the bill for parts of the lavish celebration, was found guilty of extortion and battery scandals as a younger man. More recently, Kremlev has been at the center of yet another scandal, this time concerning the “mass abduction, illegal deportation, and forced relocation” of Ukrainian children through the group Healthy Fatherland.

Um… WTAF?!

The group, which on the surface markets itself as a rehabilitation service for troubled youth, is sanctioned in Ukraine, as is Kremlev himself. To make matters even worse, the organization is run by the sister of Kremlev’s wife. And somehow, it gets even worse than that…

This summer, before Andrew Tate’s arrest, the IBA (of which Kremlev is president) planned to hold a boxing event hosted by Tate, himself accused of trafficking minors across country lines. Tate—whose ties to Don Jr. and Barron Tr*mp have already been publicized—was arrested before the event could take place.

If none of this is a good look for Don Jr., it’s an even worse look for Melania, who’s been campaigning to bring the estimated 1,200 displaced Ukrainian children home.

“Every reunion is a reminder that compassion, dignity, and family can transcend even the darkest of times: war,” Melania told press this July. “My representative and I continue working with the governments of Russia and Ukraine to safely return children to their families and communities.”

Since Melania is not known for speaking up about literally any issue, this is really the one political priority she’s felt comfortable putting her name next to. So you can imagine how embarrassing it is to realize that your son-in-law is not only working with the enemy, but accepting their money. Last week when the scandal broke, the first lady held another emergency press conference to help put out the fire. But alas, the fire has only continued to spread as new twists emerge in the case.

Her husband, meanwhile, is pleading the fifth. “I have no idea who Umar is, never heard of him,” he stated last week. “It was an ‘afterparty’ given in their honor. Not a big deal!”

Perhaps he has the luxury of thinking so, but for the rest of the country, it’s very much a big deal. Not only is the IBA under Kremlev plagued by scandal, the anti-LGBTQ+ Russian agenda he represents isn’t going to help Tr*mp’s flagging poll numbers. Tr*mp has been followed by the whisper of Russian scandal since the very start of his political career. The fact that his son just got him embroiled in a fresh scandal right before the midterms isn’t going to do Don Jr. any favors in the Republican party… or in the will.
