WWE 2K26 Update 1.04 Patch Notes Revealed

WWE 2K26 has revealed the notes for its latest patch, making some big adjustments to the way its Ringside Pass and the doling out of its related RXP works. Ringside Pass hasn’t been the most popular change that WWE 2K26 has given players of the popular wrestling game franchise, and this new patch is built to let players earn RXP in larger amounts.

The official release date for WWE 2K26 is set for March 13 for most of the world, but plenty of players have been able to dive into the action already, as 2K has granted a week of early access to anyone who has purchased one of three different premium versions of the wrestling game. While the game includes many repeating features from past installments in the series, there have been some changes, including new storylines in MyRISE and The Island game modes, and the expansion of seasons in MyGM to 50 weeks, doubling the length that they were in WWE 2K25. One change that hasn’t proven as popular is WWE 2K26‘s Ringside Pass, a battle pass system with both free and premium tiers that lets players unlock a wide variety of different wrestlers and other bonuses by earning RXP through multiple gameplay modes. Just a few days ahead of the official release, 2K has rolled out Patch 1.04, which alters the different ways that players can earn RXP, increasing the rate at which it is accumulated. This includes a 20 percent boost to RXP earned in all match types, including custom matches. More specifically, the patch notes state that completing a match will award 30 RXP, up from 20, and winning a match will, in most cases, reward 105 RXP, up from 85. There is a caveat to receiving the full RXP win rewards, however, as matches that last shorter than 60 seconds will still reward the RXP completion bonus, but not the win bonus. These changes may help to ease some tensions caused by the implementation of the Ringside Pass, as 2K notes that it is a brand-new feature and will likely need some additional adjustments to get just right. Since the game’s early access launch, many players have been complaining about the Ringside Pass on social media platforms, stating that the RXP rewards have been too low and that they don’t feel they should have to grind through matches just to unlock the full roster of WWE 2K26‘s wrestlers. The developer seems to be aware that a lot of players are grinding matches to try to complete the first seasonal Ringside Pass, as the patch notes jokingly ask them to stop locking in painful submission holds on Eric Bischoff, who has a low OVR rating of 58.The changes to the Ringside Pass go into effect on March 11 for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, but players on Nintendo Switch 2 will have to wait until March 30 to start earning more RXP. In addition to increasing RXP earned for all players, the patch notes also make note of a new locker code for WWE 2K26, which grants 32,500 VC, but only for players with early access. The code MZFGCPCR must be entered by 9 a.m. PT on March 12, and players who have entered the code can claim the rewards by booting up The Island game mode.

While some players may be put at ease by the changes to RXP rates, there have been several complaints from players who bought premium editions of the game, hoping that doing so would unlock the full roster at launch. Some buyers of the $150 Monday Night War Edition of WWE 2K26 have been particularly vocal about their dissatisfaction, especially considering the price they paid and that WWE 2K games have traditionally foregone making players who bought more expensive editions go through the hassle of working to unlock everything.

WWE 2K26 Version 1.04 Patch Notes

The Ringside Pass is a brand-new feature, so like anything new it’ll require some time and attention to get it just right. We have some adjustments to share with you as part of Patch 1.04*.

So far we’ve seen the player experience not being exactly what’s intended, so we’re implementing some changes with Patch 1.04, including:

  • Custom Matches will now award RXP
  • RXP earn rates for matches increased by 20%
      • Match Complete: 25 (current) > 30
      • Match Win Bonus: 85 (current) > 105

  • Minimum match time requirement added for Match Win RXP rewards
      • If a match is completed faster than 60 seconds, players will receive completion RXP, but not additional win bonuses. We know you’re enjoying making Eric Bischoff tap out but let’s give poor “Eazy E” a breather.

Overall, we hope these changes support a wider variety of match types and playstyles and help keep the experience fun and rewarding for everyone. And as a thank you to those who jumped into the ring with us early, we’re providing Early Access players with the locker code MZFGCPCR for 32,500 VC, which can be redeemed in-game by 9 AM PT on March 12. Once you’ve redeemed the locker code, you just need to pop into The Island to receive your VC.

Patch 1.04 will have notes that are directly on our WWE 2K Help Center.

*Note that while these updates will go live on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam on March 11, the Nintendo Switch 2 updates will be live on March 30.

We appreciate your support and we look forward to seeing your continued in-game accomplishments because The Show Never Stops.
