NFL fans worried after seeing Chris Berman’s appearance at 71

What’s going on with Chris Berman?

The legendary NFL announcer made a rare public appearance at the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio. Berman, one of the most iconic figures in ESPN history, was in town for the Hall of Fame Game and the induction ceremony over the weekend.

But the 71-year-old Berman sparked some worry – or, at least, some curiosity – with his appearance at the Hall of Fame.

Berman rocked a bright polo and dress pants, though it was his walk that had some people concerned and taking to social media.

Fans are growing worried, as he looked not right.

“Folks, he’s 71 and clearly has some health conditions. No need to hate on him for getting old. We’ll be lucky if we get to do it too,” one fan wrote.

“Oh my Lord, what happened????” one fan added.

“Get that man some suspenders,” one fan added.

“Given some of the hate being dished out in these comments, I would like to point out that an aging Chris Berman, clearly hobbled by health issues, is recorded in this video standing up to sign autographs for fans and….. well…… I just thought someone should say THAT. 👏🏻,” one fan added.

Berman is certainly ready for the NFL season

Few people in sports media, if any, are more obsessed with the NFL than Chris Berman.

The legendary ESPN anchor is expected to play a role in his network’s coverage of the 2026 NFL season this fall. Berman is known for his role in the legendary “NFL Primetime,” co-hosting with Tom Jackson, and fans are longing for something like that again during the 2026 season.

Perhaps we’ll get more of Berman throughout the 2026 NFL season on ESPN, as the regular sesaon is just a month away.
