A Florida woman is facing a rash of charges after allegedly scamming a senior citizen — and then trying to sneak thousands of dollars into jail inside her body.

Moniquie Love Turnbull, 31, of Miami, is charged with scheme to defraud, felony use of a two-way communication device, fraudulent use of a credit or debit card without consent involving a victim 60 years or older and introduction of contraband into a corrections facility, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced in two separate press releases this week.

Turnbull showed up at a senior citizen’s home and said she was a representative of her bank, the MCSO alleges.

She then allegedly claimed that the elderly person’s bank account had been compromised and that she would “handle the appropriate disposal of the card.”

Turnbull was pulled over and arrested on Monday, Aug. 17, by sheriff’s deputies while driving on a highway.

In a follow-up statement, the sheriff’s office said that when she was taken to jail, $3,200 in cash was discovered rolled up inside her vagina, at which point she was hit with the contraband charges.

Turnbull is being held in the Martin County Jail on a $500,000 bond, records show.

The money is currently sealed in evidence, but the sheriff’s office recommends residents “keep in mind at some point the cash will be back in public circulation.”
