Jim Carrey Lists $35 Million Hawaii Waterfront Mansion—Just Days After Marrying Min Ah in L.A Ceremony

Jim Carrey is bidding farewell to his sprawling Hawaii waterfront retreat, listing the tropical property for $35 million just days after tying the knot with his longtime partner, Min Ah.

The 64-year-old “Ace Ventura” star married Ah in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles, with a representative for the actor confirming the nuptials to People.

Now, fresh off their wedding, Carrey is making another major life change by putting his lavish Maui estate on the market.

The actor purchased the waterfront property for $16.5 million in 2016, according to records. Its $35 million asking price means Carrey is hoping to more than double his investment after a decade of ownership.

Built in 2002, the three-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom residence spans 4,717 square feet and sits on nearly an acre along Keawakapu Beach.

Listed by Blake Hill of Hawaii Life, the property is being offered fully furnished and is described in the listing as a “bohemian luxury unicorn.”

“Close to an acre on Keawakapu Beach, where South Kihei Road ends and Wailea begins. Roughly 170 feet along the water lets the homes stand far back behind a wide green lawn and a grove of tall coconut palms,” the listing states.

Surrounded by lush tropical greenery, the estate was designed to embrace seamless indoor-outdoor living while taking full advantage of its oceanfront setting.

Inside, soaring ceilings and an expansive floor plan create an airy atmosphere, while coastal-inspired furnishings complement the home’s enviable location.

“The great room rises into the trusses and opens fully to a covered stone lanai,” the listing adds

The chef’s kitchen features two large islands, white cabinetry, and high-end appliances, while the primary suite takes the home’s relaxed aesthetic one step further with a swinging bed and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Its accompanying bathroom is equally luxurious, complete with a statement soaking tub and dual vanities.

The dining area continues the breezy beach aesthetic, with a large wooden table and multiple seating areas providing plenty of space for entertaining.

Outside, the amenities become even more resortlike.

“Between the homes, a freeform pool curves through natural rock, hiding a grotto and a slide, with a shallow ledge for lounging and an elevated spa,” according to the listing.

The property was designed by architecture firm Ike Kligerman Barkley, with the listing emphasizing the rarity of its expansive oceanfront setting.

“This bohemian luxury property is truly a unicorn. Oceanfront land like this is uncommon in Maui. Designed by Ike Kligerman Barkley. Offered fully furnished and in excellent condition,” the description states.

Carrey’s decision to sell comes just after he and Ah marked a major milestone in their famously private relationship.

Their marriage followed a rare public appearance together at the César Awards in Paris in February, when Carrey accepted an honorary award and offered a sweet tribute to his partner from the stage.

While accepting the honor, the comedian thanked his daughter, Jane, and grandson, Jackson, before referring to Ah as his “sublime companion” and declaring his love for her.

The couple has otherwise kept their romance largely out of the spotlight, despite reportedly having been together for several years.

That desire for privacy appears to align with the quieter lifestyle Carrey has embraced away from Hollywood in recent years.

The “Truman Show” star has spent significant time in Hawaii, where his waterfront Maui residence provided a dramatically different backdrop from the Los Angeles lifestyle he maintained for decades.

Reports have painted a picture of a decidedly low-key existence for the actor on the island, with Carrey spending his time reading, writing, walking, painting, and sketching.

That makes his decision to part with the property particularly notable. It remains unclear whether Carrey plans to maintain a home in Hawaii after the sale or whether he will return to his California roots.

In 2022, Carrey revealed that he was “fairly serious” about stepping away from acting, explaining that he had become content with the life he had created outside the relentless pace of Hollywood.

“I really like my quiet life,” he said at the time while discussing his passion for painting and his spiritual life.

Carrey had spoken about his affinity for solitude even earlier. In 2018, he described his Maui lifestyle as “an isolated life” while explaining that he enjoyed spending time alone.

His move toward a more private existence also coincided with the end of another major chapter in his real estate portfolio: his decadeslong ownership of an impressive Brentwood estate.

Carrey purchased the Los Angeles property for $3.8 million in 1994—the same year his career skyrocketed with the release of “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Mask,” and “Dumb and Dumber.”

Over nearly three decades of ownership, the 2-acre property became an amenity-packed private retreat.

Built in 1951, the ranch-style residence spans more than 10,000 square feet and features five bedrooms, six fireplaces, an Art Deco-style movie theater, and a circular sunroom.

After owning the property for nearly 30 years, Carrey decided it was time to move on. He initially listed the Brentwood estate for $28.9 million in February 2023, revealing at the time that he was no longer spending much time there.

Finding a buyer proved to be a lengthy process. The asking price was subsequently reduced to $26.5 million and then $23.95 million. In May 2024, Carrey lowered the price again to $21.9 million before trimming it to $19.75 million that September. The home ultimately sold for $17 million.
