The 2026 Little League World Series continues on ESPN on Wednesday, with multiple games taking place as we inch closer toward the World Championship Game on Sunday afternoon in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

South Korea was eliminated from the tournament on Tuesday. The Asia-Pacific team fell to Canada, 5-1, in an elimination game. Canada will take on Japan in a win-or-go-home game on Wednesday.

But South Korean players have faced backlash during the tournament, for what fans are calling “unethical” behavior at the plate.

South Korean players would often show bunt, wagging their bat all over the strike zone, only to pull it back as the pitcher released the baseball. The goal here is to distract the pitcher and hope that by wiggling your bat in the zone, he’ll throw a ball.

It worked at times.

However, this isn’t really something you’ll see at the MLB level – where pitchers obviously have much better control – but is it something that you should be doing at the youth sports level?

It’s similar to pressing in youth basketball. Are youth athletes really learning and developing with this kind of strategy? Or is it just something that will help them win games as 11 and 12-year olds?

Fans call out South Korea players’ behavior

South Korean fans are not happy.

“I guess South Korea should been more focused on getting runs instead of trying to bunt on every at bat,” one fan wrote.

“The South Korea bunt dance is so unethical,” one fan added.

“Why are South Korea showing bunt every pitch…,” another fan added on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Does South Korea do anything besides bunt?” one fan added.
