Taylor Swift made her first official red carpet appearance post-wedding, showing up at the VMAs in a beautiful draped gown and sparkling drop earrings. But, pretty sure everyone was busy zooming in on Tay’s hand for the first ultra-HQ photos of her wedding ring. And it’s literally nothing like we first thought.

Taylor’s ring was first photographed by paps at the wedding of Oli Jacobs and Laura Sisk (DeuxMoi has pics), and it looked like a simple gold band. But then Tay stepped out for a 48-minute interview and performance at the Grammy Museum for “The Icon Sessions with Taylor Swift: A 20-Year Retrospective” and the camera operator helpfully zoomed in on her hands—revealing Tay’s wedding band had some sparkly diamonds incorporated into it.But even that shot doesn’t capture what the ring actually looks like. Turns out it’s not a gold band decorated with diamonds at all. It’s actually individual diamonds set in gold, stacked neatly alongside each other.

No confirmation yet on where Taylor’s wedding ring is from, but her engagement ring was designed by jeweler, Kindred Lubeck—who Travis knew Taylor loved.

As she put it on Heart Breakfast, “She does all of her gold engraving by hand. I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out because when I saw the ring I…I was like, ‘I know who made this, I know who made this,’ and also, you listen to me! It was like, you really know me. I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex.”
