Natalie Harp’s unwavering loyalty to President Donald Trump may be becoming painful to perform, according to a body language expert.

The president’s most beloved aide was seen standing off to the side in a bright pink outfit as Trump attended an event at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, on Friday. Trump was honoring the members of Artemis II, who embarked on a nine-day voyage around the moon earlier this year.

New photos of Harp and Trump from earlier today were released, showing Harp trailing behind the president in a green dress and nude heels. Body language expert Judi James told The Mirror US that Harp’s clothing choices for meeting the astronauts aren’t typical.

“These strong block colors would be worn to stand out and raise the profile in the same way as U.K. royals use block colors to show status and visibility,” said James. “They seem to suggest that Harp wants to be highly visible and to create some kind of a raised profile or brand in public.”

Meanwhile, James called Harp’s green dress “impractical for a flight and over-sophisticated for a member of staff.”

“Harp’s smile here is beginning to look almost painful to perform. It looks like the kind of stretched, professional rictus smile that competitive ballroom dancers and beauty pageant contestants are required to perform,” said James.

“She applies hers as Trump speaks to the astronauts, and it’s difficult to see why she feels impelled to do so. Looking pleasant would be easily sufficient here, but her cheek-dimpling smile looks rigid and unprompted by genuine happiness or humor.”According to James, Harp’s action could be prompted by a desperation to please the president, who infamously admonished female news reporter, Kaitlan Collins, for not smiling. “You know, she’s a young woman… I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile,” Trump told Collins in the Oval Office earlier this year.

“I’ve known you for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face.” However, the way Harp smiles suggests something else, said James.

“The way she aims it at the room in general suggests a desire to ‘join in’ with the action rather than hover on the sidelines,” she said.
