Fox News viewers have turned on Donald Trump once again.

The 80-year-old president jetted to Michigan on Monday, July 27, where he spoke at a General Motors (GM) plant to highlight his perceived achievements and to boast over his economic policies, a move that underscores the political and economic weight of the state.

He visited a sprawling General Motors facility in the Detroit suburb of Milford, which serves as a testing ground for its vehicles. He pumped a fist after watching a trio of drag races that involved muscle cars and luxury vehicles like the Corvette Z06, Cadillac Escalade V, and EV Hummer — events the announcer promised were “all America First power.” It followed Trump exiting the Air Force One with his suspected “diaper nurse.”

At the rally, which was aired on Fox News, Trump touched on several topics, including poking fun at himself. “This room was built for a few people making cars, not for 1000s of people,” he began.

“And it is a little warm up here,” Trump added as the crowd erupted with laughter. However, he insisted, “But I love that because every time I make a speech, I lose weight. It’s wonderful. It’s a wonderful way to lose weight.”

Fox News viewers wasted no time calling Trump out on his weight after his remarks in Michigan. One X user blasted, “That’s excess fluid he’s carrying due to his poor cardiac function.”

A second person joked, “Haha, only Trump could turn a boiling-hot factory speech into a free gym session,” with someone else adding, “Bro turned campaign speeches into a weight-loss program. Forget the gym, just book a rally.”

“I mean, a disgusting blob of rotten flesh is technically a shape,” uttered another. Elsewhere, a fifth user chimed in, “Forget Ozempic, just book a rally tour.” And a sixth user corrected the president, writing, “It’s called sweating… it’s water. You don’t sweat fat.”Reports and social media trolls constantly hit out at Trump’s weight and health, calling him “overweight” and “unhealthy.”A follow-up medical report by Bornstein claimed that Trump’s blood pressure, liver and thyroid functions were within the normal range, and that he takes a statin.

At 6 feet 3 inches (191 centimeters) and 236 pounds (107 kilograms), Trump’s body mass index of 29.5 registered on the higher end of overweight BMIs.

Dr. Oz once told Trump, “You’re 6’3″, 236 lbs. as I mentioned. Now, in my mind, I’m thinking your body surface area and your BMI is high. It’s probably close to 30, which is sort of the barrier for most people. Do your doctors or your family ever give you a hard time about your weight?”

“Yeah, I think I could lose a little weight,” Trump admitted. “I’ve always been a little bit this way. I think that if I had one thing, I’d like to lose weight. It’s tough because of the way I live. But the one thing I would like to do is be able to drop 15 to 20 pounds. It would be good.”

Also in his Michigan rally, Trump raved about how good his presidency has been. “We are doing unbelievably well as a country,” Trump said as supporters held signs reading “American Jobs.”

“We’re building more auto factories and more plants than at any time in the history of our country.” Trump won Michigan in 2016 and lost it when he lost the presidency four years later, only to reclaim the state and the White House in the 2024 election.

But the president’s approval ratings in the state have been nosediving despite trade policies aimed at reviving industrialization and providing factory jobs, which would especially benefit Michigan.

An EPIC-MRA poll last month showed Trump’s approval rating at 33 percent, less than two years after he won the state with 49.73 percent of the votes.
