Close shared a sweet video from outside her Montana home

Glenn Close is sharing a sweet video while wearing a family heirloom.

In a video posted from her Bozeman, Montana, home, the 79-year-old Oscar nominee can be seen smiling before the camera as she says, “Hi everyone, I’m home.”

“Wearing my mama’s shirt, letting the wind blow through my white hair,” she adds. “Watching the sun go down. I feel blessed. Hi to you all. Bye.”

In the caption, Close wrote: “And Pip is right behind me,” a nod to her beloved Havanese dog.

Close was recently announced as an honorary Oscar winner, and will be among the honorees at the 17th Governors Awards, to be held on Nov. 15. The actress has been nominated for multiple competitive Academy Awards and has never won.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors announced on Wednesday, June 10, that Close, Sir Ridley Scott, and animator Floyd Norman will receive Academy Honorary Awards. This year’s Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award will go to producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler.

Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor said in a statement: “Throughout her extraordinary body of work, Glenn Close’s unparalleled emotional range has brought to life some of the most complex characters in cinema.”

Close has been nominated for eight acting Oscars, the most of any living performer without a win.

In 2021, while speaking to Pete Davidson for Variety‘s Actors on Actors, she mused that “it might be cool to never get” an Oscar statuette.

“Is it better to be wheeled out in a wheelchair and get the lifetime achievement award? You don’t have to make a speech,” Close said at the time.
