Federal prosecutors said Keegan Lagasse of Vermont allegedly contacted the FBI and threatened to shoot President Donald Trump in the head and made several other threats.

Lagasse submitted a tip about allegedly wanting to kill Trump

According to a federal complaint, the suspect allegedly submitted a tip to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC).

“I’m gonna murder all them. This is Keegan. I’m gonna shoot him in the head or I’m gonna plant a bomb and blow up the White House soon,” the man allegedly said, according to the federal complaint.

Lagasse also claimed he might hire someone to carry out the alleged killing of Trump.

Eventually, the NTOC received another tip, and prosecutors believe Lagasse submitted it.

“‘The submitter again identified ‘Keegan Lagasse’ both as the complainant and the subject in the tip,’” the complaint stated, according to Valley News.

The tip was another threat to kill Trump, Front Page Detectives has learned.

Lagasse has allegedly made other threats before

Federal prosecutors claimed the man allegedly posted a video on social media with what appeared to be a rifle, weeks before he threatened to “shoot up” a local high school, per VTDigger.

The Department of Justice argued there are multiple reasons to go ahead with Lagasse’s detention because the suspect made several threats in the past.

In October 2023, he reportedly threatened to “blow up” Richford, Missisquoi and Essex High Schools in Vermont and in February 2024, Lagasse made another threat to “blow up” the Cadillac Motel and carry out a shooting.

Federal prosecutors claim he allegedly threatened to carry out his illegal acts at the Maple Fields Convenience store in St. Albans in September 2024.

Suspect remains in custody without bail

“In July 2026, he reportedly told the State Police dispatch that he had previously made threats about bombs and the president,” the DOJ detention order noted, per the media outlet.

Lagasse is facing charges related to wilfully making threats to take the life of, and to inflict bodily harm upon, the President of the United States.

The suspect has been ordered to be held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on October 5 for his arraignment and preliminary hearing.
