Jesse Watters tosses in midterms towel on air in ‘white guys’ rant
Fox News’ Jesse Watters — an avowed MAGA and Trump booster — has already tossed in the towel with an on-air admission about how he sees the midterm elections going before the polls even close.
“I don’t feel great,” he said on the news. channel’s The Five Tuesday. “I feel like I’m about to play a game that I know I’m going to lose; I’m just trying not to get hurt.

“And getting hurt would mean you lose the Senate. And right now the Senate is very much in play, and it’s making me angry.”
Democrats need to flip four seats in the Senate and three seats in the House of Representatives to gain the majority. President Donald Trump has fiercely campaigned for Republican candidates, hosting almost daily rallies in reliably red states where Democrats have gained ground in the polls.
That may have fed into President Donald Trump’s changing the channel on his favorite network as he rage-posted about Fox News.
“I knew this was coming; everybody knew this was coming,” Watters said. “It was just: How bad is it going to be?”
Trump has told his supporters to pretend he’s on the ballot, but Watters doesn’t think would-be supporters are convinced.
“I have two white contractors at the house… and I’m like, ‘Did you guys vote?’ and they’re like, ‘Not yet,’ and I’m like, ‘Come on! Leave my house and go vote!’ But I kinda wanted them to get going, so they didn’t,” Watters told his co-hosts.
“But, like, they didn’t have a plan. Now if Trump was on the ballot, these guys would have already voted, you know. You’ve got two middle-aged white guys, they would have been there… but he’s not on the ballot,” Watters said.
“So we’re just supposed to pretend, and we’re all pretending he’s on the ballot, but really deep down we know he’s not on the ballot.”
Trump was watching Fox News Tuesday evening, but he said he had to turn the show off because ”I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov’s voice.”
In his latest attack against Tarlov, who offers a Democratic view on the conservative network, Trump wrote on Truth Social that she was “DUMB AS A ROCK, but it’s the voice that gets me.
“Have to go somewhere else until that LOSER is off the air — I’ll be back later!”
Tarlov previously said, “Why is this man not busier? There are better things to do,” when addressing his frequent criticism on the Pod Save America podcast.
In a follow-up post, Trump raged against the whole network, saying that Fox News ratings are “way down (27%!) because they’re spending too much time covering the Trump Deranged Dumocrats!”
“All of those people who used to watch Fox, and no longer do, get it. It’s them, not me — My numbers are better than they have ever been,” the president continued. “No wonder Fox News ratings are collapsing, and they’re going to go down a lot further. They’re way down, not because of me, but because they are AGAINST me!”
Meanwhile, a CBS News exit poll showed Trump with a 38 percent approval rating — the lowest approval rating of any president during the midterms.
