Karoline Leavitt wears a crochet cover-up at the beach with her son after publicly ‘gossiping’ about ‘private’ lunch involving Donald Trump
Karoline Leavitt is giving followers a glimpse into life with her young family after stepping away from her role as White House press secretary. The social media post comes after she revealed a “private” lunch moment involving president Donald Trump and Keir Starmer.
In a recent Instagram post, the 29-year-old shared a video showing a sweet moment with her 2-year-old son, Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio, during a day at the beach. Wearing a crochet knit cover-up over a pink bikini, Leavitt held her son in her arms and kissed him as he pointed toward something in the distance.
Leavitt shares Niko and her daughter, Viviana “Vivi,” who was born on May 1, 2026, with her husband, Nicholas Riccio.

The family moment comes several weeks after Leavitt left her position as White House press secretary in August. She had previously said she wanted to spend more time with her husband and children, explaining that the demanding schedule of the position made it difficult to be the mother she wanted to be for her young family.
President Donald Trump announced Leavitt’s departure on Aug. 12, 2026, while praising her as one of his trusted aides.
Although she stepped away from the White House press secretary position, Leavitt did not leave Trump’s political orbit. She transitioned into a role as an outside adviser to Trump and became an external spokesperson for MAGA Inc., the super PAC supporting Trump and his political agenda.
Since leaving the White House role, Leavitt has also spoken publicly about some of her experiences while working for the administration. During an appearance on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast, Karoline recalled a private lunch in the U.K. involving Trump and former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to Leavitt, Trump began criticizing Starmer’s policies during the meal. “We’re sitting around the table, and we’re all enjoying lunch, and we’re in this beautiful place, and the president just starts ripping into him for his policies,” she said.
The mom of two recalled Trump allegedly telling Starmer, “Your policies here are so stupid, you need to close your borders,” before continuing with criticism of the U.K.’s immigration policies. She also described watching the exchange alongside White House deputy chief of staff for Policy Stephen Miller.
“Starmer’s just sitting there … in his house, in his country. We’re not even at the White House, we’re not even on our own territory and he’s just … I remember Stephen Miller and I looking at each other like, ‘Oh boy, here we go,’” she said.
The comments later drew criticism from Newsmax host Greg Kelly, who argued that Leavitt should not have publicly discussed a private conversation involving the president and a foreign leader. “Unbelievable. So now that she’s an Ex press secretary, Karoline (with a K) Leavitt GOSSIPS about PRIVATE meetings the President had with world leaders?” Kelly wrote on X.
He described the decision as “A BREACH of Trust” involving both the president and the nation and called the disclosure “IMMATURE.”
