Khloé Kardashian has a surprising take on her ex Tristan Thompson.

In the first episode of The Girls, a new Hulu reality series centered around some of the Kardashians’ closest friends — Nicole Williams English, Olivia Pierson, Natalie Halcro, Yris Palmer, Khadijah and Malika Haqq — Khloé made a comment about how she would feel if her sister Kim hooked up with her ex.

The comment arose as Pierson was discussing the blind date she went on with Palmer’s ex-husband. Pierson said her “first thought” when she saw who she was at dinner with was, “[That’s] Yris’ ex. I don’t go there.”

Khadijah then said it was different because Pierson had “permission to go there,” given Palmer was the one who set up the date.

“I wouldn’t care if Kim hooked up with Tristan,” Khloé, 42, then said. “If I gave permission, I give permission. The baton is passed.”

Malika said that the idea of Kim hooking up with the NBA player, with whom Khloé shares her two kids, is “a little gross,” and Khloé clarified, “Well, I’m not saying that actually.”

She explained, “I’m just saying, when you’re really like — that chapter is closed, I have love and respect and you have a great relationship — I wanna see you happy, so I want you with the best person that I could think of.”

Khloé dated Thompson from 2016 until 2021, and they share daughter True, 8, and son Tatum, 4. They were on-again, off-again during the five-year period, as their relationship was plagued by scandals.

Their relationship ended for good in January 2022 after Khloé discovered that Thompson, 35, had fathered a child with another woman while they were still together.

Shortly afterward, a rep for Khloé confirmed to PEOPLE that she would be welcoming a second child with Thompson via surrogate.

On her podcast last year, she reflected on her relationship with Thompson, as she said that her divorce from Lamar Odom prepared her. “Going through such a public divorce and handling that — and, yes, it was between him and I, and it was a great love that was now lost, and that whole thing — it was so public. So public that I’ve never dealt with something like that before. But I dealt with it, and I had my family’s support and all of that,” she said on a July 2025 episode of Khloé in Wonder Land.

“That was sort of a stepping stone, if you will, for the next big traumatic thing that happened to me, [which] was when Tristan cheated on me right before I gave birth,” she said. “Obviously, no one can prepare you for something like that. And it wasn’t the cheating that’s like, ‘Ugh.’ People get cheated on. It’s more that I was nine months pregnant — I was having a baby two days later — and it was so public, and it was everywhere. But I think I handled it the best that I knew how because I almost got a little experience of it, or a lot of experience of it, from my divorce with Lamar. So it sort of prepared me.”“Everything prepared me for each experience in my life, and I think when you overcome those experiences, you feel really strong,” she added. “And also for how I handled so many of those moments in my life, I’m really proud of myself for the way I handled them.”
