Natalie Harp ‘wanted to say dad died in sleep’ after he died by suicide during COVID lockdown

Preston Harp, estranged brother to President Trump’s close aide Natalie Harp, revealed in a new interview that his sister wanted to pass off her father’s suicide as him “dying in his sleep.”

Preston, 38, revealed in a bombshell Daily Mail interview that after medical examiners ruled their father, Robert’s, death a suicide, Natalie and their mother, Jill, wanted to tell others that he died in his sleep.

Preston recalled how he and his sister were close-knit siblings while growing up in California and were home-schooled by their parents, with their “extremely conservative” mother instilling a Christ-led education.

As they got older, they diverged in beliefs, with Preston being a free spirit who loved rock music and skateboarding, while Natalie was the dutiful daughter who followed their mother’s conservative religious values, he told the news outlet.

Preston added that he maintained a close relationship with his father, as they would often go on hikes and eat out.

However, a rift between Preston and his sister emerged after Robert died on July 17, 2020, months into the pandemic.

Preston recalled how Natalie called to say there was a family emergency, and he rushed over to the family home in Irvine, California.

An Orange County coroner ruled the death a suicide, and Preston said that he couldn’t keep their father’s death a “secret.”

“My mom and sister wanted to say that he died in his sleep. I just can’t keep that kind of a secret,” Preston told the news outlet.

Preston shared the news of his father’s suicide with extended family, which became the catalyst for the sibling rift that, even years later, continues.

Robert was not given a funeral, just a private cremation, other family members told the news outlet.

A month after her father’s death, Harp delivered a speech at the RNC in North Carolina after Trump gave her a speaking gig following her public praise of his Right to Try Act, which she credited with her recovery from bone cancer.

Today, Preston and Natalie seem to be polar opposites, despite growing up under the same roof.

Natalie has skyrocketed in public status as a close, trusted aide to President Trump, while Preston has retreated to Nicuagra and helps edit the writings of Vietnam War veteran S. Brian Willson, an 85-year-old peace activist who was designated a domestic terror suspect by the Reagan administration.
