New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino (R) went ballistic on Mayor Zohran Mamdani for his plans to attend the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11 in the Big Apple this Friday.

Speaking out during a press conference on the steps of City Hall on Tuesday, Paladino ripped into the mayor, saying his association with left-wing figures like Hasan Piker is reason enough for Mamdani to reconsider attending.

“We are standing here and we are standing strong,” Paladino said. “I’m not asking politely for the mayor not to come to 9/11, to that ceremony, I am asking, I am demanding, he not show his face at that sacred ground! He does not belong there!”

Good morning, everybody, how are you? Here we stand on the steps of City Hall 25 years later, who would have ever thought in a million years that we would have a petition with 101,000 names on it of fellow New Yorkers standing on steps of City Hall asking for a mayor not to attend the most tragic day in our nation’s history, that happened to be right here in New York City. But we are standing here and we are standing strong. I’m not asking politely for the mayor not to come to 9/11 ceremony, I am asking, I am demanding, he not show his face at that sacred ground. He does not belong there. When you associate yourself with the likes of Hasan Piker, and you have as your chief counselor right here this building, Ramzi Kassem, who was handed a sacred pen yesterday, very cryptic through our police commissioner so it can go into his hands, that was a message to each and every one of us. Cryptic as it is, but read through the lines. What’s going on here at City Hall and what we got representing us at City Hall, they do not belong on sacred ground. I could go through a list of people that he associates himself with and continues to associate himself with. We, the people, do not care for Zohran Mamdami. 101,000 names is not a drop in the bucket. Do not, Zohran Mamdami, take us New Yorkers for granted. We were there that day. The sky looked very similar to this. Stay put. Stay in City Hall, and promote your propaganda.

Paladino is just one of many figures demanding Mamdani stay away from the ceremony.

On Monday, Rudy Giuliani, who was NYC mayor during the terror attacks, also demanded that Mamdani go elsewhere on Friday’s anniversary.

Mamdani responded to those demands on Tuesday morning, telling reporters, “I’m proud to be the mayor of this city. I love this city. I love this country. And what I want this week to be a focus on, is the families whose loved ones were stolen from them 25 years ago in the horrific act of terror on September 11th, and also a focus on the first responders who gave everything they could to this city, and the people who came together to try to help their fellow New Yorkers.”

He added: “In the days to come, my focus will be on attending events that memorialize that incredible courage, and I will be there on Friday at the memorial, just as I was last year.”
