The attack damaged critical infrastructure facilities and private businesses and sparked fires in the Korosten, Zhytomyr and Zviahel districts.

Four passenger cars also caught fire. The fires have been extinguished, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said.

Emergency crews also inspected the affected areas for explosive hazards. State Emergency Service psychologists were working at the scene.

Overnight on Tuesday, Sept. 29, Russian forces carried out about 10 strikes on civilian infrastructure in Zhytomyr Oblast, targeting several cities.

On Sept. 25, Russian forces attacked Kromberg & Schubert, a foreign-invested company in the Zhytomyr community, for the second time in a week.

On Sept. 21, Russian forces attacked gas stations in Zhytomyr Oblast twice in one day. The first strike hit a gas station on the M-06 highway on the outskirts of Zviahel. Russian forces later struck a WOG gas station complex in the Zviahel district.
