South Carolina’s Darline Graham Took a Cheap Shot at Massachusetts. Here’s My Reply.
Between Daniel Webster’s Second Reply to Hayne and the bloodthirsty intervention of Preston Brooks into the career of one of our senators, we in the Commonwealth (God save it!) had our fill of the people of South Cackalacky back in the 19th century. What we don’t need is some unqualified pipsqueak taking shots at us so Meemaw and Papaw can share their semi-annual chuckle.

Darline Graham: “South Carolina is truly Trump country. … People are moving to South Carolina in droves to get away from the blue-state politics of the Democratic Socialists …”
Some Yahoo In The Crowd: “Yes we are!”
Graham: “Yeah, I remember you. Massachusetts, right?”
My guess? Some elderly snowbird from Quincy whose kids are grown and who got tired of shoveling snow between November and April. You’re welcome to her, Meemaw. It has to be the winters because we know it’s not public education. (MA: 3rd, SC, 42nd), and it’s not public health (MA. 2nd, SC, 36th), and it’s not quality of life (MA. First, SC 44th). And, if you’re going to use us as a punchline, you should first thank us for helping float your damn economy. Damn Sherman for not finishing the job.
