Texas father accused of killing estranged wife while children were home left eerie clue on shirt

The Texas man charged with murdering his estranged wife was found with a chilling clue on his shirt during a police welfare check, according to an arrest affidavit.

Jake Bigoni, 37, answered the door at his Plano, Texas, apartment on Aug. 12 with a haunting, large blood stain on his shirt, FOX4 reported.

Police had conducted a welfare check on his estranged wife, Eliana Bigoni, after she failed to meet a friend for breakfast that morning and were alerted to potential safety concerns involving Bigoni’s previous violent behavior.Bigoni told responding officers that the stain was from cleaning his home and that Eliana came by the apartment earlier that day but had since left.

But cops later determined that the large stain on Bigoni’s shirt was in fact blood — and described his apartment as having “a large amount of blood and blood spatter,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Daily Mail.

Eliana’s badly-beaten body was found in the trunk of a white Hyundai in the garage of Bigoni’s apartment building, police said.

Thirty minutes before the welfare check, Bigoni had called his mother and onimously said “I have something to tell you. She’s dead.”

“We got in a fight and she’s dead,” the father of two allegedly admitted to his mom.

Bigoni’s concerned mother then called the cops.

Eliana was separated from Bigoni at the time of the heinous killing and the couple were in the process of divorce.

The couple’s children, a 2-year-old and 5-year-old, were at the apartment at the time of the alleged murder and were unharmed.

“You are talking about two kids who were present when this incident or crime occurred,” Plano Police Officer Jerry Minton told FOX4.

“I can’t speculate as to what they may or may not have seen, but they were present.”

Eliana was reportedly on her way to Bigoni’s apartment to collect her children before she was killed.

Her official cause of death has not yet been released by the Collin County Medical Examiner.

Bigoni was originally slapped with a felony abuse of a corpse charge before authorities later added a murder charge.

He is currently being held in jail without bond.
