Two dolphins pulled a 10 year old girl underwater, then both attacked simultaneously
What was supposed to be a fun family vacation in Cancun, Mexico suddenly became a terrifying fight for survival when a 10 year old girl found herself being attacked by two dolphins.

The girl, identified as Lexi, was in the water at a dolphin attraction when the animals suddenly turned aggressive. What began as an ordinary encounter quickly became dangerous as one of the dolphins moved toward her and began biting and ramming her.
Lexi was caught completely off guard. The powerful animals repeatedly struck her body, leaving her frightened and struggling to understand what was happening. She screamed for help as the dolphins continued circling and attacking her.
The situation became even more dangerous when both dolphins began pulling her underwater. Instead of swimming away, they continued their assault while Lexi desperately tried to remain above the surface.
Trainers at the enclosed facility realized that something had gone seriously wrong. They attempted to get the dolphins to stop, but the animals continued attacking the child. From outside the water, Lexi’s mother watched in horror as her daughter struggled against the animals.
For her mother, the most terrifying possibility was that Lexi could disappear beneath the surface and drown. The girl was already injured and had little control over what the dolphins were doing to her.
Then Lexi managed to grab onto a bodyboard.
That simple decision may have helped save her life. The floating board gave her something to hold onto while keeping part of her body above the water. Instead of allowing herself to be pulled completely beneath the surface, she held on as tightly as she could.
Eventually, one of the trainers was able to reach Lexi and pull her away from the dolphins. She was finally removed from the water and taken to safety.
Lexi survived the attack, but she did not escape without serious injuries. She suffered cuts, bruises and puncture wounds across her legs and feet. What had started as a family vacation had suddenly become a frightening encounter that left permanent reminders of what happened. The incident also demonstrated how quickly interactions with powerful marine animals can change. Dolphins are often portrayed as friendly and harmless because of their intelligence and frequent interactions with humans. However, they remain wild animals with considerable strength, powerful jaws and the ability to cause serious injuries.
For Lexi, staying attached to the bodyboard was crucial during the chaos. It gave her buoyancy while she waited for someone to reach her. Without it, remaining at the surface could have become much more difficult while the dolphins were pulling at her.
Her mother could only watch as trainers attempted to intervene, but eventually the rescue succeeded. Lexi was brought out of the water alive, injured but conscious.
The experience transformed what should have been a memorable vacation into something far more frightening. A close encounter with dolphins had become a struggle beneath the surface, involving two animals attacking at the same time.
Lexi survived because she managed to keep herself afloat long enough for help to arrive. Her story remains a chilling reminder that even animals commonly associated with playful encounters can become dangerous when humans enter their environment.
