The operation was carried out by pilots of the Black Sky unmanned systems battalion of the National Guard brigade. The attack on the missile system, which was located 40 kilometers (about 25 miles) from Russian-occupied Volnovakha, was carried out with a Middle-strike-class strike drone.

“Russia’s $10 million investment in air defense has turned into yet another target for our drones,” the brigade’s troops said.

“Which once again reminds the occupiers: the concept of the ‘deep rear’ has lost its relevance for them.”

The Osa is an automated military surface-to-air missile system designed to shield ground forces from strikes by aircraft, helicopters, drones, and cruise missiles at low and medium altitudes.

The Osa became the world’s first fully self-contained surface-to-air missile system, in which all radar stations, the launcher, and communications, and life-support systems are combined on a single amphibious wheeled chassis.
