Woman arrested after allegedly offering officer $500 to let her go following disturbance
A woman was arrested after allegedly showing up at a residence, damaging a door and offering an officer about $500 to let her go, according to the Laredo Police Department.
Officers responded at about 1:37 a.m. Oct. 1 to a disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Candlewood Road.

When officers arrived, they saw a woman, later identified as 27-year-old Cassandra Elaine Chavez, banging on the complainant’s door.
The complainant showed officers multiple messages Chavez had allegedly sent her and told officers Chavez wanted to talk to her about a third party, police said.
The complainant also alleged Chavez had damaged the door.
After Chavez was detained, she allegedly offered an officer about $500 to let her go, according to police.
Jail records show Chavez was booked into Webb County Jail and charged with stalking, a third-degree felony; criminal mischief between $100 and $750 in property damage, a Class B misdemeanor; and bribery, a second-degree felony.
She was released the same day after posting bonds totaling $41,000.
Chavez was also issued a criminal trespass warning.
