Night City, two in the morning. The courier Nika Vale runs out of a delivery and is cheated by four-fifths of her wages. She accepts it because she stopped stealing. Until she finds an arasaka security card that no one should have been allowed to give. That same night, a netrunner named Katya sits on her machine, who knows more about Nika than her own fixer. They both know that the other is lying. Neither of them goes.
