Blake Lively accused of giving Taylor Swift intimate ultimatum that ended friendship
Blake Lively allegedly threatened to expose her text messages with Taylor Swift if she didn’t “release a statement of support” for Lively during her high-profile legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

Lively, 38, and Swift, 36, developed a very close, highly publicized friendship beginning in 2015. However, Lively’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni reportedly impacted their friendship. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, claimed that a “reliable” source had revealed that Lively’s lawyers made “extortionate threats” to Swift’s legal representative demanding she publicly release a statement of support for the actress. If Swift did not comply, Lively reportedly would expose “private text messages of a personal nature” between the two women.
This comes after the news that Swift is no longer an “active godmother” to Lively’s daughters with Ryan Reynolds after Lively was snubbed from Swift’s wedding.

Michael Gottlieb, Lively’s attorney, denied that any threat occurred, stating, “This is categorically false. We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality.”
An alleged text message Lively sent to Baldoni appeared to reference Swift as one of her “dragons” as Lively compared herself to Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. “I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better,” she reportedly wrote. This message dragged Swift further into the “drama,” allegedly leading her to “halt” their friendship.Along with her “extortionate threats,” Lively allegedly demanded that Swift release a statement after they did not attend the 2025 Super Bowl together. An insider told the Daily Mail that Lively asked, via her legal team, that Swift share a message on social media addressing her absence from the game.
“So sad, my bestie couldn’t come to the Super Bowl,” read the alleged requested post.
Lively reportedly threatened to release “10 years” of private messages between her and Swift if the singer did not answer to her request.
An insider, however, said that Lively’s Super Bowl debacle was “the ultimate blow to their friendship,” calling out “outrageous.”
“Blake has never threatened to leak Taylor’s personal or private text messages,” stated a source close to Lively.
Swift and Lively were seen together at the 2024 Super Bowl, where the two cheered on Swift’s now-husband Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift and Kelce, 36, exchanged vows last month in a ceremony at Madison Square Garden attended by 1,000 guests.
Lively was not present at the high-profile wedding. She and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, were in Lake Placid, New York to support their daughter at a horse show.
