Philadelphia 76ers superstar LeBron James‘ wife, Savannah James, has remained relatively controversy-free over the years despite the spotlight firmly being on her husband and their family. Savannah hasn’t had many missteps, but she is now coming under fire for comments she and her longtime friend and business associate, April McDaniel, made during an appearance on the Mental Wealth podcast.

“My friends are very respectful of my situation,” Savannah said. “I’m like, we’re going somewhere; they already understand what it is. There’s no expectation of taking care of something or just having me be responsible for them. It has never ever been that.”

McDaniel then brought up how people had once taken offense to Savannah flying first class while she sat in business class.

“There’s two different lifestyles that exist,” McDaniel said. “Like we’re not delusional to that. Even if we’re going on the same trip, I don’t feel the need to be in first [class], because that’s not in my budget. And people were very critical of her being in first and me being in business, and me going up to first and getting in her bed and watching a movie. They was like offended.”

Well, McDaniel probably shouldn’t have brought this up again, as the clip went viral. While she doesn’t seem to take issue with Savannah not getting her a first-class ticket when they travel together, fans on X were incredibly disappointed.

“Savannah James might need to go back to being quiet and sitting pretty… this is such a nasty attitude to have towards your best friend,” one female fan thinks Savannah needs to keep her mouth shut.

“This is so f***ing lame to me. All that money she has. I do not like people like this. My best friends would be sitting right next to me. Wouldn’t even be a thought. This is crazy,” a fan wouldn’t want to be around a person like Savannah.

“She’s not a good friend. Sorry,” one bluntly said Savannah isn’t a good friend.

“I’ll always rock with James family and Savannah, but this is weird,” one fan is a bit put off by this behavior.

“No shade, but if I didn’t wanna buy my best friend a first-class ticket, I’ll buy the same ticket she’s buying. Either way, we’re flying the same regardless, never separately,” a fan made it clear they would make it a point to always travel together with their friend.

Now McDaniel is reportedly a millionaire. If true, she isn’t really short on money and is simply making a financial decision. Should Savannah still offer McDaniel a first-class ticket or just go in business with her? Well, if her friend doesn’t mind, then does it really matter?

Savannah and McDaniel, who co-host the Everybody’s Crazy podcast, have been friends for 15 years, and clearly this isn’t a subject that is causing division between them. They’re still going strong after all this time.

Also, it should be pointed out that Savannah isn’t a billionaire; her husband is. Forbes named LeBron a billionaire in 2022, and according to them, he now has a net worth of $1.4 billion. Despite the riches, the 41-year-old is known to be rather cheap, so he might not be in favor of such an agreement either.
