Sophie Cunningham scores another big brand deal as Fever star’s power explodes

Sophie Cunningham’s business game is just as sharp as her defense this season.

Sophie Cunningham has added another name to an endorsement list that keeps getting longer. The Indiana Fever guard announced a new partnership with Once Upon a Coconut on Monday, teaming up with the coconut water brand on a multi-platform campaign that spans advertising, retail activations, digital content and national appearances.

Cunningham broke the news herself on Instagram, posting a series of photos alongside the brand’s products.

“sip happens, stay hydrated 🥥,” Cunningham wrote, before ranking her two favorite flavors. She compared the chocolate option to chocolate milk and called the pineapple flavor “fresh and clean.”

Once Upon a Coconut founder and CEO John Chiorando didn’t hold back when explaining the decision to bring Cunningham on board.

“There is a toughness and resiliency to her, and at the same time, compassion and camaraderie. She can compete at the highest level and stand up for her teammates while always embracing who she is. That combination is rare.”

Chiorando pointed to Cunningham’s willingness to defend her teammates as proof of the authenticity the brand wanted to attach itself to. It’s the same trait that’s made her one of the most talked-about personalities in the league this season.

Sophie Cunningham’s Endorsement Portfolio Keeps Expanding

The coconut water deal is the latest addition to a resume that already reads like a marketing agency’s dream board. Cunningham has a player-exclusive Adidas sneaker through Crazy Energy, a personal care campaign with European Wax Center, a hospitality partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, a nutrition deal with Quest, and arguably her most visible partnership yet in Arby’s.

Few of those deals overlap in category. Adidas ties directly to basketball, Marriott Bonvoy leans on travel, European Wax Center sits in the beauty space, and Arby’s has leaned entirely into her humor. Once Upon a Coconut now slots in as another lifestyle brand betting that her personality will translate into sales.

Cunningham is averaging 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists this season, mostly working off the bench for a Fever team built around Caitlin Clark. The numbers are modest, but her value to Indiana has never lived entirely in the box score.

She was part of Sunday’s comeback win over the Atlanta Dream, an overtime thriller in which Indiana erased an 18-point deficit to escape with a 95-91 victory. Cunningham contributed three points, seven rebounds and an assist on her own birthday, helping push the Fever to 23-12 on the season.

Indiana continues a five-game road trip on Tuesday, facing Marina Mabrey and the Toronto Tempo at 7 p.m. ET. Cunningham’s focus returns to basketball for that matchup, but her growing list of partners makes it clear the business side of her career shows no signs of slowing down.
