Abbey Clancy says she felt ‘physically ill and so upset’ after going through Peter Crouch’s phone

Abbey Clancy said she felt ‘physically ill and so upset’ after going through her husband Peter Crouch’s phone and discovering his secret celebrity crush.

The model, 40, revealed that she looked at the ex-footballer’s messages behind his back and ended up giving him the silent treatment for two days after what she found.

Speaking on the latest episode of their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, Abbey admitted: ‘I went through your phone,’ to which Peter replied: ‘Which you shouldn’t do.’

Trying to justify her actions, she said: ‘Everyone does that, every girl does that.’

Abbey continued: ‘But I find out things from you by doing that.

‘I found out you had this crush on Jet from the Gladiators, which I didn’t speak to him for two days after and he was like “Abbey, she’s like 60” and I was like “I don’t care, it made me physically ill,” I was so upset.’

Peter replied: ‘But I’m allowed to fancy someone from 25 years ago…’

Abbey responded: ‘I know, but still knowing my husband fancies someone else.’

Peter explained: ‘That was well before you as well, I was around 14 when I was watching Jet.’

Jet, real name Diane Youdale, was one of the main cast members on the original UK series Gladiators from 1992 until 1996.

Abbey snapped: ‘So! And at the same time I find out you’re planning this golf trip.’

Peter explained that he likes to ‘have all his ducks in a row’ before raising it with his wife.

Abbey hit back: ‘But you don’t tell me before the day before Pete.’

Peter replied: ‘Would I want a month of hell or a day of hell?’

It comes after the couple enjoyed a chaotic fishing trip with their four lookalike children during a lavish getaway in New York last month.

The pair shared a glimpse into their family day out at sea as they caught a number of fish together.

The couple were joined by their four children, daughters Sophia, 15, and Liberty, 11, and sons Johnny, eight, and Jack, seven.

The TV personality couldn’t contain her smile as she proudly watched her children catch fish on the boat in Montauk, the eastern tip of Long Island, New York.

Abbey put on a leggy display in a pair of red striped crochet shorts which she teamed with a grey sweatshirt from their hotel Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, a baseball cap and sunglasses.

The star was seen pouting and holding up a peace sign as she posed with her husband Peter, who rocked a grey T-shirt and white shorts.

Abbey twinned with her oldest daughter Sophia, who also wore a grey sweatshirt from the hotel and a baseball cap, while her sons Johnny and Jack donned £145 Burberry swimming shorts.

The couple looked happier than ever as they spent time with their clan making memories during the trip, Abbey penned: ‘Fishing carnage.’

In an episode of her and Peter’s podcast, Abbey shared the awkward moment that an ill-timed joke by Sophia, 15, nearly led to her arrest.

Abbey revealed that Sophia was grilled by immigration officials when she questioned why she had to have her fingerprints taken.

She said: ‘Sophia nearly got arrested at the airport, we’re landing in New York, it’s kind of security heavy… strict.

‘Those immigration officers are not fun. You cannot crack a joke with them.’

In the episode, Abbey continued: ‘Sophia renewed her passport since she last visited the US and she had to do her fingerprints.

‘Sophia was like ”why do I have to do fingerprints? Is that in case there are fingerprints on the gun?”

‘They were like “sorry Miss, what did you say? What fingerprints on the gun?” and then she was like “there’s guns here and you could have my fingerprints…” and they were like “what? your fingerprints are on a gun?”

Abbey said she managed to intervene, and tried to explain to the officials that Sophia was just observing how they catch criminals.

She said: ‘I was like “no, my daughter is not saying her fingerprints are on a gun”, she’s saying “is that how you catch criminals, if fingerprints are on a gun?”

Things got even worse when a woman left her bag unattended next to Abbey in the queue, as she said: ‘A lady left her bag and the queue spirals round and everyone was going “whose is this?”

‘At this point she was at the opposite end and I was right near the bag and I was thinking f***ing hell, so this poor woman got accused of leaving a bomb bag.

‘She just left it at the end as she didn’t want to keep carrying it.

‘So then we got our bags and the driver left us because we were taking too long and I just burst into tears.’

Despite their turbulent trip into New York, Abbey and Peter managed to make the most of their time in the iconic city.
