Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on Saturday urged Senate Republicans to stand up to President Donald Trump as the midterm elections approach.

“Trump hates every one of you,” Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, wrote on X, adding that Trump “detests all of you.” The post cited no specific policy, vote or incident. His claims about Trump’s feelings are his opinion.

Almost an hour earlier, Scaramucci wrote, “He has betrayed us,” while sharing a Fox Business report on Trump’s announcement Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to supply over 300,000 tons of diesel immediately, and more later.

From Trump Loyalist To Outspoken Critic

Scaramucci met Trump in 1995 and joined his 2016 campaign. Trump fired him as communications director after 11 days in 2017. Scaramucci broke with Trump in 2019 and endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024. He has praised Trump’s crypto agenda but criticized his tariffs and foreign policy.

Scaramucci Has Pressed GOP Senators Before

He has made similar appeals. In February, he urged congressional Republicans to “break ranks” with Trump, calling him “deeply unpopular.”

In March, he asked Sen. Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), “Where is your backbone?” In a post that did not name Trump, he cited the country’s “removal procedures” and said the founders “built the exit door.”

Republicans Fight To Hold Senate Majority As Midterms Near

Scaramucci’s warnings come as Republicans work to defend their Senate majority. Democrats need to flip four seats to retake the chamber.

Last Saturday, Trump did not shy away from defending data centers at an Ohio rally, a contentious topic drawing bipartisan opposition.

He has also openly urged Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) to join the Republican Party.

Vice President JD Vance is also set to hold a rally in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday, his second campaign stop in the state in under two weeks.
