Influencer dies in police chase while transporting over 100 kilos of weed

Brazilian influencer Alana Alves da Silva, known online as “Vampira 085,” was among seven people killed in a devastating head-on crash in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The 28-year-old was a passenger in a car that failed to stop at a police checkpoint before fleeing and later crashing into another vehicle. Police found around 302 pounds (ca. 137 kg) of cannabis inside the car.

Influencer Dies in Crash After Fleeing Police

The crash happened on August 8 on the BR-251 highway near Salinas in Minas Gerais. According to Brazil’s Federal Highway Police, officers attempted to stop a Fiat Cronos at a checkpoint, but the driver allegedly ignored the order and drove away.The vehicle continued for around 10 kilometers, or six miles, before the driver attempted to overtake several cars on a curve. The Fiat entered the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Astra traveling in the other direction.

Alves died at the scene. Two other people traveling in the Fiat, 24-year-old Pedro Yan Linhares Gutierrez and 19-year-old Ramon Silverio Nogueira, also died from their injuries. A fourth passenger, a 20-year-old woman, survived but was seriously injured.All four people in the Chevrolet Astra were killed as well. They were identified as Argemiro Machado da Silva, 79; Valmir Machado da Silva, 76; Alcides Silva Santos, 77; and Gilmar Bispo dos Santos, 46.

Police Found Huge Quantities of Marijuana

After the crash, authorities discovered that the Fiat was transporting cannabis, packed into more than 160 packages. The discovery has become a central part of the ongoing investigation. Police identified Gutierrez as the suspected driver. According to reports, he had no driver’s license, was wearing an electronic monitoring device, and had previous drug trafficking cases pending against him.However, authorities have not indicated that Alves was involved in the alleged drug trafficking or that she knew about the marijuana in the vehicle. She was a passenger in the car when the crash occurred. Alves had built an online following of nearly 60,000 people, sharing fitness, lifestyle, and comedy content. She also ran an online fitness fashion business.
