Quinton Aaron is updating fans about the saga involving his ex-wife Margarita DeLeon.

The Blind Side actor revealed that he hasn’t seen DeLeon, who was still legally married to another man when they tied the knot in late 2024, since he went into the hospital for suffering a stroke earlier this year. Aaron and DeLeon’s marriage was ultimately voided, and he is looking ahead as he recovers.

“There were times I remember seeing her in the room, but I was in and out of consciousness, and I didn’t speak to her because I was intubated,” he told Us Weekly, adding, “I don’t need to speak to her ever again.”

When asked if he was ready to move on, Aaron said, “Absolutely.”

“God has blessed me with a second chance to do it the right way,” he said. “I’m gonna leave him in charge of the love department. I got too much else to focus on.”

He added that they weren’t “in a good space” before Aaron’s medical emergency, and was “praying for God to remove her from my life because I felt like I was stuck.”

Aaron had married DeLeon in December 2024. Just after celebrating their first wedding anniversary, Aaron suffered a spinal stroke in January 2026. Upon waking up from a four-day coma, he learned that DeLeon had been legally married to another man when they tied the knot, which she told his family about while he was unconscious.

While Aaron was hospitalized, an attorney discovered records showing DeLeon was still married to estranged husband Eric Guzman, whom she tied the knot with decades earlier in 1992.

Since she was still legally married to someone else and was unable to make medical decisions for him, Aaron told ABC News’ Steve Osunsami in an April Good Morning America interview that was “what eventually led to the doctors removing her from around me.”

“The entire time we were together, she told me she had been divorced for 10-plus years,” he added. “She even told the person where we were getting married, ‘Oh yes, I have all the documents. I can email over to you the divorce decree.’”

Aaron never saw the document, calling it his “biggest mistake.” He considers the incident a learning lesson.

DeLeon also spoke to GMA about her realization about their marital status. “When I told Quinton back in the hospital bed, and I want to be very honest about this, I feel like this needs to be said and brought out there,” she said at the time.

“I said to him, I said, ‘Baby, this information that your family pulled up on me, you know, I wasn’t aware of it.’ I said, ‘This is what I found out. It is true.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, Aaron revealed the progress he made in his recovery. At the time of his stroke, he reportedly was walking up stairs and his legs “suddenly stopped functioning,” causing him to collapse, per TMZ.

“I can feel when people touch my legs all the way up and down [and to] my stomach. I can’t register pain, though. One night I was lying there watching a movie, and I jumped at [something on] the TV, and my leg moved,” he told Us Weekly.

He also remains determined. “I’m not gonna let what happened to me defeat me or define me. I’m still gonna be who I am to the fullest, and I’ve grown a lot in these past six months.”

“My faith is a huge factor in my mental endurance; you do not find a quit in me. I keep telling everyone that not only am I going to walk again but I’m going to run and swim and do all the things I used to. I’m gonna build myself back up better than before,” he added.
