Ryan Clark has been offered a job by a seafood restaurant just days after his shock on-air firing by ESPN.

Last week, ESPN announced a new round of layoffs, with Clark one of the network’s casualties. The former NFL safety learned of his firing while live on air, and Clark did not return to the ‘NFL Live’ set after hearing he was being let go by ESPN. The former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back was not the only on-air talent let go by ESPN; former NFL MVP Cam Newton and longtime MLB announcer Karl Ravech were also fired.

Following the news, Ryan Clark broke down in tears as he spoke about his firing on ‘The Pivot’ podcast, a show he hosts with ex-NFL players Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder. It comes as Tony Romo’s fate at CBS was revealed after the top NFL analyst’s OWI arrest.

He also posted a message of support for his fellow ESPN co-workers who lost their jobs as a result of the layoffs the day after he was fired.

“Sending prayers and love to all those laid off today by ESPN,” wrote Clark. “So many of you have poured your life into that company, & I know how you’re feeling right now. My hope is as this door closes another opens for you all. God bless!”

Clark, best known for his eight-year stint with the Steelers, the highlight of which was winning Super Bowl XLIII, has since been offered a new job, albeit not one that will require him to speak on camera.

Posting on X, the Baltimore-based seafood restaurant Jimmy’s Famous Seafood taunted Clark about his firing, writing: “Good news, @Realrclark25 — we’re hiring!” and attaching a link to a job application.

The restaurant is currently looking for a carryout, bartender, hostess, busser, warehouse associate, server, and food runner. There is also every chance the restaurant chose to taunt Clark because of his ties to the Steelers, who are archrivals of the Baltimore Ravens.

It had been claimed that one of the reasons for Clark’s firing stemmed from an on-air incident in which he got into a heated discussion with NFL insider Peter Schrager, with the pair butting heads over NFL receivers CeeDee Lamb and AJ Brown.

During the discussion, Clark told Schrager: “That’s the non-player in you,” in an effort to undermine the latter’s point about the drops CeeDee Lamb had made during the Dallas Cowboys’ 2025 season Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

He replied: “Don’t belittle me like that, I can come and say, as three ex-players are saying one thing, and give an alternative perspective.”

Clark then said: “Peter, what I need for you to do is not get mad and let me finish.”

Speaking on ‘The Pivot’ podcast, Clark explained that he and Schrager’s relationship is fine. “Me and Peter don’t have an issue,” Clark said.

“I would think if you asked him right now, obviously after what went on with us, there’s been nobody that’s been nicer to him.”
