Maggie (@margarinetok) had her front license plate stolen. She called the police about the issue. But instead of helping her, Maggie alleged that her cop grumbled about her concern and even spoke to her coworkers about her report.

“I get back from vacation. My license plate got stolen,” Maggie told TikTok. She called the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) but was told to file a police report about her stolen front plate. After calling the police station, Maggie was told that an officer would call her.

The police officer started the call with a “hey.” Maggie alleged that he didn’t immediately introduce himself until she asked who he was. He then followed up with, “What’s up?” Officers are not always formal. One woman from Tennessee was even taken to a Taco Bell drive-thru and given a Baja Blast Freeze by her cop. But unlike that woman, Maggie said her interaction with her police officer got exponentially worse. She alleged that the officer kept asking for details already written on her police report.

Dealing with a grumpy police officer

“He’s answering some of these questions for me. He seems irritated, and so am I,” she alleged. The officer asked her when she was going to get home, and Maggie claimed she wouldn’t make it until late at night. The police officer told her they were a 24/7 agency and asked her if she needed her front license plate.

She said yes, but the officer allegedly got aggressive. “I’m a law enforcement agent. I f****** know that,” he allegedly replied. Maggie was surprised that he asked in the first place. Given the police officer’s demeanor and the ongoing lawsuit against the station, Maggie didn’t feel safe letting him come over to her house at 2:00 in the morning.

She had to redo her police report. When she got on the phone with the same cop, she told him to go to her workplace instead. Maggie gave him her work address, but after a couple of questions, she alleged that he asked for the building address yet again. She continued, “And then at the end, he repeats the address back to me with the wrong numbers.”

He got nosy at her workplace

When the police officer told her he was at her workplace, Maggie didn’t find him at the entrance. She alleged, “He’s standing in the mulch, talking to two of my coworkers.”

“You’re doing this on company time?” the police officer allegedly asked Maggie. She agreed, but then the officer allegedly asked for her boss. She replied, “I don’t have a boss right now.”

Then, the police allegedly turned to her coworkers and asked them, “What do you ladies think? Is this acceptable to be doing on company time?” Maggie said she was on break when the police started questioning her coworkers. Furthermore, she claimed her workplace was “cool” with their policies.

“Is this your business? F******* take my report!” Maggie complained, alleging that the officer was hostile the whole time. He eventually left after taking her report. But 30 minutes later, Maggie claimed that he called her by accident. During the call, he allegedly talked smack about her, calling her report a “non-issue.”

“Somebody has my license plate. If they’re running up tolls on 95 and it’s connected to my name, okay? God forbid we’re on the other side of the spectrum, and somebody is committing serious crimes with my license plate,” Maggie said. She decided to file a complaint about the police officer, but posted no further updates about the situation.
