Sydney Colson was restrained at Gainbridge Fieldhouse from confronting an Indiana Fever fan during Tuesday’s WNBA Playoff action.

The 2026 WNBA Playoffs have already produced storylines galore, with the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx stunningly dumped out of the postseason by the New York Liberty. Meanwhile, Tuesday night also saw the Fever take on the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of their playoff series.

Having lost Game 1 last weekend, Indiana hit back during Game 2 in Indianapolis, with Caitlin Clark top scoring for the Fever with 27 points and 15 assists in a 99-89 win. However, the game was marred by controversy and drama after Aces’ star A’ja Wilson got into an altercation with a fan. It was initially thought that the fan was ejected from the arena, but the Fever clarified what happened in a statement after the game.

That was not the only drama involving fans on Tuesday night.

Colson, who played for both the Aces and Fever, got into a heated altercation with a fan inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with her having to be physically restrained from confronting the individual in question.

In a video posted to social media, Colson could be seen saying, “Who do you think you are?” before she was removed from the situation.

The Wilson and Colson incidents marred what proved to be a thrilling Game 2 between the Fever and the Aces, with the former staving off elimination to send the series to Game 3. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday night in Las Vegas, with Indiana aspiring to dump out the reigning WNBA champions.

Should they do so, it would mean two of the top three seeds in the WNBA Playoffs have been eliminated, with Minnesota falling to New York.

Following the game, Wilson hit out at the fan who confronted her, telling reporters their conduct was “unacceptable.”

“I try to play my game,” Wilson told reporters after the game.

“But if I am just walking, just got the foul, I’m chilling and I see a man come at me, taking steps toward me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said.

“I don’t give a damn how you said it, the tone. That is unacceptable. You don’t step toward me. You never should sit and point at me. That there is unacceptable.”

Wilson added that she apologized to her teammates for confronting the individual, which landed her a technical. “You don’t know me at all,” she added.

“To come and step toward me and point at me and say anything… you don’t have to like me, you don’t have to love me. You can hate me with all your heart. But you don’t know me. But I guarantee you will respect me.”

Reports that the fan was ejected from the arena also proved false, with Indiana releasing a statement saying there had been “no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct.”

“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena,” read the statement.

“We consider the matter closed.”
