Mom-of-two, 32, drops dead during newborn son’s health check-up
A mother-of-two model scouted at a gas station has died suddenly at her son’s routine check-up.
Giane Alves had taken her youngest son, Felipe, just 45 days old, for a routine check-up when she suffered a fatal heart attack on Oct. 2. The pair was accompanied by her husband, José Sobrinho, and their 7-year-old son, Gael, when Giane, 32, became unwell in Condeúba, Brazil.

Her agent, Miguel Crispim, confirmed she died in the hospital and said she had no previous health problems. He told local media: “It was a huge shock for all of us, as Giane was a healthy woman.

“She didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, didn’t take any medication, and was up to date with her medical check-ups and in excellent health, especially as she had recently given birth to a baby.”
Giane’s pregnancy had progressed normally, according to Crispim, who had represented the model for more than 12 years. He described her as “an honest, loving woman, an incredibly good person”, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Giane was discovered while working as a gas station attendant in São Paulo in 2015, when she was 21.
At the time, she said she had never planned to become a model and only agreed to meet an agency after a woman approached her at the gas station.
She soon began receiving offers from modeling agencies and took part in auditions, photoshoots, and castings. That same year, she landed work with international brands and began building a career overseas.
Over the course of her career, she worked as a model in London, New York, Milan, Germany, Portugal, and Brazil. Her work included catwalk shows at São Paulo Fashion Week and editorial shoots for magazines including Vogue Brasil, Vogue Italia, L’Officiel, and Elle.
In recent years, she has returned to live in her hometown with her husband and two children.
“She wanted to live a quieter and healthier life, so she decided to move to the countryside, to have a more peaceful life and raise her child,” Crispim explained.
Her funeral was held in Condeúba on Saturday.
