Olivier Martinez storms out of court, curses during Halle Berry custody war
Olivier Martinez apparently needed a timeout of his own during his bitter custody battle with Halle Berry. The French actor reportedly stormed out of a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, October 20, and launched into a profanity-laced exchange with his attorney as testimony continued in the former couple’s increasingly contentious legal fight over their 13-year-old son, Maceo.

According to Page Six, Martinez, 60, appeared visibly agitated as he exited Los Angeles County Superior Court alongside attorney Patrick Baghdaserians. Witnesses reportedly heard the actor cursing during an animated discussion about testimony before the pair headed toward a restroom. They returned approximately five minutes later.
It was unclear what Martinez said or whether he directed the profanity at his lawyer. The reported outburst came as Berry, also 60, took the stand behind closed doors to address allegations that she physically abused Maceo. Jon Hay, a staff member at the teenager’s school, previously raised concerns about his behavior.
And the former couple’s courtroom showdown is far from over.
Martinez is scheduled to testify, while Berry’s 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, is expected to take the stand later this week.
The latest drama follows the October 19 hearing, when Maceo testified for nearly four hours about allegations involving his mother. Judge Shelley Kaufman cleared the courtroom for the teenager’s appearance and kept his testimony sealed.
The atmosphere outside those closed proceedings wasn’t much friendlier. Page Six described the hearing as “icy,” reporting that Berry and Martinez exchanged hostile looks while keeping their distance.
The legal battle stems from Martinez’s allegations that Berry choked Maceo during a September 26 confrontation involving a virtual reality headset. Martinez claims Berry became physically aggressive with their son while her fiancé, musician Van Hunt, was present.
He subsequently obtained a temporary restraining order and requested sole legal and physical custody of Maceo, resulting in restrictions on Berry’s contact with the teenager.
Berry has adamantly denied abusing her son. Her attorney, Marina Beck, called Martinez’s accusations “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading.”
The Oscar winner maintains that the confrontation involved roughhousing, not an assault. She has also accused Martinez of interfering with Maceo’s educational and therapeutic needs and attempting to turn their son against her.
Berry seeks to have the temporary restrictions lifted and restore their previous 50-50 custody arrangement.
Nahla, whom Berry shares with former partner Gabriel Aubry, has already challenged Martinez’s allegations in a sworn declaration.
“I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way,” she stated.
