Meet former heartthrob Nick Nolte’s two children – who both took up the acting mantle
Nick Nolte was once voted ‘sexiest man alive’ and is still acting on screen today, but his acting legacy didn’t stop there: both of his children – despite being decades apart in age – have pursued their father’s footsteps onto the screen.

Nick Nolte’s son Brawley was born on June 20 1986 to Nick and ex-model Rebecca Linger. He’s followed in his father’s footsteps, acting in several projects between 1996 and 2012. He first appeared in Mother Night, followed by his best known role as Mel Gibson’s kidnapped son in 1996 thriller Ransom.
He last appeared in 2012 comedy short film The Attendant. Brawley has been married to TV actress
Navi Rawat since 2012, with whom he shares a daughter.
Nick Nolte’s daughter Sophia Lane Nolte, who he shares with ex-wife Clytie Lane, has also pursued a career in acting. Born in Los Angeles County on October 3 2007, Sophia has only appeared in one project to date: 2018’s Head Full of Honey, in which she plays the on-screen granddaughter of father Nick, who portrays a man suffering from Alzheimer’s heading off on one last adventure.
She’s set to appear in upcoming drama Condemned to Love alongside her father, proving that despite her age – Sophia is just 19 years old – she is already dedicated to a career on screen.
Nick has tied the knot four times, wedding Sheila Page in 1966. They separated in 1970. He next wed Sharyn Haddad in 1978, parting ways six years later. In 1984, the same year he split from Sharyn, Nick tied the knot with Rebecca Linger, welcoming a son before their separation in 1994.
It wasn’t until 2016 that he married wife Clytie Lane, welcoming daughter Sophia when he was 66 years old.
Nick Nolte won the title of Sexiest Man Alive in 1992, taking home the prize as the decade’s favourite bad-boy with a heart of gold.
He was more rugged than those who had taken the cover prize before him, but his fame was undeniable with credits in projects like Lorenzo’s Oil and The Prince of the Tides.
Nick recently returned to the red carpet for the first time in four years, posing with co-star Casey Affleck to promote his most recent project, gothic anthology feature Company.
Other recent appearances include comedy thriller Die My Love (2025), Crime 101 (2026) and The Golden Voice (2025).
